EMalahleni formerly known as Witbank is a town situated on the Mpumalanga Highveld less than two hours easy drive from Gauteng and therefore makes an ideal place for weekend outing. Witbank Dam is situated close the town although when visiting it the presence of the urban sprawl and the proximity of mining operations and Duvha power station is not evident.

Waterview House is situated in the nature reserve that hugs the hillside that borders the dam. The mountain grassland is home to re-introduced game species such as Zebra, Blesbok and Wildebeest which pose affably for your approach in your tin animal.

The house is a modern face brick building built into the hillside, overlooking the dam.  It sleeps up to 14 people with 3 double rooms and two with double bunk beds all supplied with beddings and adjoining bathrooms of a high standard of finish. The upper floor has a games room with pool table and table tennis with a balcony that has superb views out over the valley. Downstairs you find a lounge and dining rooms with DSTV (bring your own decoder and card). A beautifully appointed kitchen will delight you if it is your task to prepare food. Adjoining the lounge is a Jacuzzi while the main entrance plays host to an indoor braai so that even when the weather is not as good as it might be, it will not affect your enjoyment of your stay at Waterview House.

For those of you who enjoy messing about in boats, there are slipways close by for launching your boat onto the dam.  An early morning walk to view the wildlife is also rewarding and the network of roads on the reserve offer you opportunities to explore with your mountain bike.

A stay at Waterview House has many attractions, notably its closeness to Gauteng and the number of people it can accommodate makes it ideal for family gatherings, church groups and small business get togethers. The facilities are excellent and suitable for all weathers and for the boating enthusiast, bring your own boat and enjoy a day out on the dam.
