The Wag-'n-Bietjie Eco Farm and hiking trail is situated on the banks of the Vaal River in the Koedoesdraai Conservancy,

40 km from Bothaville and 230 km from Johannesburg.



Slaap-‘n-Bietjie & Die Grot
This is our more rugged hiking huts which can sleep 24 and 14 people.  It has bunker beds and electricity with shared ablution facilities. Facilities include mattresses, fridge, hot plate, pots, pan and electric kettle. Braai facilities, hot showers, and flush toilets.

Fully Equipped Kitchen with cutlery, crockery , pots pans microwave, gas stove, oven, fridge freezer.

Perfect for bigger groups like hikers, schools and Church groups. Situated app 300 m from the river.


Die Plaashuis (Farmhouse)
“Die Plaashuis” can accommodate groups of up to 11 people, with 4 private Bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.  It is fully furnished and has a cozy fire place for that cold winter nights and a outside braai facility.  The kitchen is fully equipped for self catering or catered meals.



Snork-‘n-Bietjie is a fully equipped self catering unit that sleeps 4 people with its own braai facility.  Ideal for a cozy weekend away, or for a small bunch of fly-fishing friends.

Additional accommodation in Flat (next to owner’s house) 4 people, equipped kitchen, own bedding.

  • The conservancy is patrolled by our Veld Ranger and offers you a safe and almost unique wildlife like the aardvark, steenbok, waterbuck other buck species and many bird species.



This is a figure 8 route. Day one is 10 km and day two 2.5 km. The trail includes hiking through open veldt and also showcases a breathtaking river landscape. A greater part of the trail follows the river which includes indigenous trees such as the Blinkblaar-wag-'n-bietjie, Taaibos, RosytItjiebos, Jakkalsbessie and more.  The trail adjacent to the river is mostly in the shade, creating a "forest" effect. Bird watchers will appreciate the variety of bird species found here including Giant Heron, Fish Eagle, Blackcock.
